I am so excited! We are having fancy tile laid on our front step.
Mitch has been going wild with his new pressure washer. So, we’re going from white, blasted concrete to tile that looks kind of like slate but isn’t slippery.
But the best part is that when that’s done, we’re gonna place some potted palms on either side of the steps. We already bought the pots from a discount place a couple of towns over. And I purchased a couple of those LED lights that you stick in the dirt and they shine up thru the palm leaves and cast cool shadows at night.
It all sounds so fancy, doesn’t it? I can’t wait. Come back to this blog post soon…I’ll post a picture as soon as it’s done!
Update: It’s finished! And we couldn’t be happier. Every time we walk by those windows, we’re surprised all over again. You wouldn’t believe how many times Mitch tried painting that concrete. It was four years in the coming but I think we can check this project off the list and move on to the…. Oh, you know what it’s like to own a home. Do the projects ever really end?
Let me know what you think in the comments below or at Lifting Her Voice.

Joy I am enjoying your podcast so much. My daughter Laura Wilcoxson told me about it. Thank you so much for your ministry.

Barbara! It’s so nice to virtually meet you! And I’m so glad the podcast is a blessing to you. Laura has promised a proper introduction next you’re all in DP. I’m looking forward to it! If you ever have suggestions for the podcast or thoughts about the content, I welcome your input.

Looks great, Joy! I would love to get rid of some of our white concrete, too….maybe we can learn to stain our concrete when it gets a little cooler here!
Joy
Thanks, Laura! Mitch is considering staining the rest too. We’ll see….
