The Ground the Israelites Covered

A map makes it so much easier to get a handle on the ground the Israelites covered.  Take a look at the map below.

The Ground the Israelites Covered

Listen to Numbers 33 again on the podcast and trace the path with your finger as I read.  You’ll see how they exited Egypt. Then they travelled pretty much straight down to Sinai and up to Kadesh-Barnea on the border the Promised Land.  But then those scouts rejected God’s promise that He would be with them and 40 years of wandering began until that generation was dead.

They wandered kind of in circles until they cut across to the east side of the Jordan. King Sihon wouldn’t let them pass and Edom wouldn’t let them pass. They cavorted with the Midianites and that didn’t end well. Finally, they came up along the east side of the Jordan. That’s where the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh fell in the love with the pastureland. And that pretty much brings us right up to the beginning of the book of Deuteronomy.

Let me know if this helps at Lifting Her Voice.com, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Be sure to subscribe and listen to the podcast as we begin Deuteronomy and finish up with the Law of the Old Testament.
